Turn any document into AI-ready Markdown

Convert PDFs, scanned pages, photos, Word and Excel files into clean text for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Plain text uses a fraction of the tokens that page images do.

How it works

Typed PDFs, Word and Excel

Text is read directly from the file, so it's instant and exact. Tables in Word and Excel become Markdown tables.

Scans and photos

Pages with no text layer go through OCR in your browser. Pick up to three languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil and 100+ more.

Ready for AI chats

Download a .md file or copy the text, then attach or paste it into your AI assistant. A 2 MB PDF often becomes a few KB of text.

Questions

Are my documents uploaded to your server?

No. Conversion and OCR run inside your browser. Our server only counts how many files you convert so we can apply daily limits. We never see the contents.

Why convert documents before giving them to ChatGPT or Claude?

AI assistants often read a PDF as page images as well as text, which uses far more of your usage limit or tokens. Plain Markdown carries the same words at a fraction of the size, and you can trim it before you paste it.

How accurate is the OCR?

Clean printed scans come out very well. Faint photocopies, stamps, handwriting and complex layouts need checking. Choosing the right language makes a big difference.

What are the free limits?

Without an account: 5 files and 10 OCR pages a day. With a free account: 15 files and 30 OCR pages a day, plus batch uploads and ZIP downloads. Pro removes the limits and the ads.

Why does OCR take a moment the first time?

Your browser downloads the OCR engine and language data once, then keeps them cached. Later conversions start straight away.
